What do we do sis when life seems to be speeding by and the things we want to happen, aren’t? What happens when we should be married by now, but scrubs keep hittin’ us up in our DM’s? What happens when you see children walking with their momma’s and you’re walking by yourself? What happens when you feel your dreams aren’t moving fast enough? Do you ever ask yourself, how do I get there? God, how and when is it going to happen? When will time work in my favor?
Here, come sit with me for a second…
A lot of my life has come in the waiting. What I mean by that sis is God has met me in the waiting process. I think of the waiting process as literally a waiting room. Boring. Not fun. The walls have no color. The chairs are uncomfortable. The tv has on a show that isn’t good. The magazines are outdated. You almost feel isolated. You’re having to awkwardly smile at other patients, because you’re stuck in a room for the next however long. Which I think is so funny, because how many times have you done that pretend smile at someone in your waiting season? “Like yes girl I’m waiting on the Lord” and you’re like “I’m trusting Him,” but when you get home you’re crying yourself to sleep, because it actually hurts to wait. It actually feels like you’ll never be seen. Like will God ever call my name?
Sis, God sees all and knows all. The Bible says He will NOT withhold any good thing from you. (Psalm 84:11) You belong to the Most High God, you don’t need to cry. Hold your head up high. No matter what you’re waiting for, God is in control. This waiting will eventually become a memory God will use.
He needs a chance to prove to your enemies that He is God…
Sis, hold on. Grab ahold to His unchanging hand. I’m not saying it’s easy. Sis, I’m waiting for God to do something for me. There are nights where I cry. There are nights were I want to say, “It won’t happen.” Bible also says, “the tongue has the power of life and death.”(Proverbs 18:21) Be careful sis what you speak over your life. Take inventory of your thoughts.
Filter out the negative ones…
Refill your mind with truth. Know that God is renewing your strength as you wait on Him. He is granting you His perfect peace as you keep your mind stayed up on Him. Sis, one of the coolest things about God is He is a lifter of heads. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season, you will reap, if you don’t faint. ” (Galatians 6:9) God knows what you need before you really need it. Don’t give up on God’s promises. Don’t give up on the life you desire. Don’t give up on your visions. Sis, don’t give up on you.
God will do it. It’s already done. I’ll see you in the waiting room.
